Lecture Tour on “How to optimize ovarian stimulation. Challenges by patient type, including oncopreservation” A cycle of conferences by G. Barrenetxea in Portugal
Professor Gorka Barrenetxea has been invited to give two conferences on ovarian
stimulation this week in Lisbon and Porto, Portugal, this week. Ovarian stimulation is a
mainstay in assisted reproduction treatments and, at the same time, the profile of
patients to be treated may be very different.
First, current patients with fertility problems are different from those of the past
century. Some 30 years ago, women wanted to overcome infertility anyhow.
Nowadays, they want to achieve a pregnancy as soon, easy and normal as possible.
And different strategies will be presented by prof. G. Barrenetxea to accomplish these
goals.
Furthermore, we deal with different type of patients including egg donors and women
willing to preserve their oocytes. Both subset of patients are usually younger and their
objective is not to achieve a pregnancy. They are usually healthy women who desire a
treatment as comfortable as possible without any side effects. Our medical director
will share the experience on comfortable, easy and effective ovarian stimulation
protocols at Reproduction Bilbao during the last 3 years.
